Tree removal may add to commuting woes
posted March 13th, 2009
Tree removal work in the same area as ongoing road work could make for a slower commute to work starting Monday, March 16.
Starting then, some trees will be removed along Towerview Drive and Morreene Road to allow construction of a new turn lane on each of these roads.
Construction will continue in coming months as part of an intersection improvement project along Erwin Road that began last spring.
Meanwhile, the city of Durham continues work on upgrading water and sewer lines in a separate project along Erwin Road near Duke’s West Campus and Duke University Hospital.
